about

A song about the accordion playing French anarchist Francois Ravachol with the slightly ominous refrain of 'long live the sound of the explosion'. One of a number of French anarchists who participated in 'propaganda by the deed' who, in the midst of police repression, ostentatious luxury for the rich and miserable conditions for the poor, decided to take matters into their own hands by carrying out bombings which they hoped would inspire revolution.

Corrupt magistrates, greedy financiers, stupid senators, rotten deputies, police, generals, executioners and hotels of the rich all find themselves in the vengeful crosshairs of the revolutionaries.

Ravachol was convicted for his part in bombing the houses of a judge and government attorney in retaliation for their role in the trials of other anarchists.
